I am officially open for manuscript editing. All the details you need are below and I appreciate your interest in my services!
What I’ll Edit:
- Full Length MG & YA
- A Select Number of Chapters
What I won’t Edit: Erotica and really graphic Horror stories.
Turn around: 2-3 weeks depending on length of manuscript. Less than a week for synopses, blurbs, and chapters.
Things I look out for: Content, Grammar, Structure, Character Development, Consistency, Plot Development.
Experience: I graduated university with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. I work as an Assistant Editor for an academic publishing house in New York. I’ve interned at two small fiction houses prior to this job and also co-run a critique service called The Inkwell Council.
Feedback: For a full manuscript edit, I will send you back two documents. The first will be an annotated version of your story with comments I’ve made as I’ve read. These comments can range from grammar problems, to plot inconsistencies, to my reactions. The second document will be an analysis highlighting the good aspects of your manuscript, what needs work, and any major plot holes or issues I found.
How often I take on projects: Case by Case, though I aim for 1-2 manuscripts a month. I’m always willing to work something out or I’ll be honest if I don’t have the proper time to give to the project.
Price: Rates are determined based on the length of the manuscript or set of chapters and the extent of the edit you would like. I charge roughly $.008 per word.
For synopses and blurbs, they go for a flat rate of $20.
How To Pay: I accept 50% of the full payment prior to starting the project and the other 50% once the project has been completed. Payment via PayPal is preferred.
